WBEZ-FM (Chicago)

From 1997 - 2007, Steve was Food Contributor for WBEZ (91.5 FM), the Chicago affiliate for National Public Radio. Every other week, Steve produced and reported all kinds of food stories.

One week might be a live, in-studio discussion on hot new restaurants in Chicago; another week might be a 10 minute, pre-produced story on the origins of the Chicago hot dog or the true meaning of an Italian ice.

His reports on WBEZ garnered two James Beard Awards, plus two Peter Lisagor Awards, which are bestowed upon Chicago journalists by their peers for outstanding work.
