Steve has been an award-winning food journalist ever since he took over as Executive Producer and Host of the "Good Eating" show in 1995, for the Tribune company's 24-hour newschannel, CLTV. From 1995 - 2003, he garnered six James Beard Awards for the weekly, half-hour program.

In 2003, he moved to ABC 7, Chicago's #1 news station, and became the first regular food reporter on a Chicago television station, picking up another Beard Award for his work there in 2006.

Steve has also been a sought-after guest commentator for the local PBS station, as well as an occasional judge for national programs such as "Iron Chef: America" on the Food Network, CNBC's "The Entrepreneurs" and "At The Table With..." for Food Network Canada.
